Salary Negotiation 101
Richard Hughes, a Clarity Account Executive in the Permanent Division, reminds us that you need to be prepared and really know your numbers when negotiating your salary! You should spend some time crunching your finances prior to applying to jobs to know where you need to be so that you can pay all of your expenses. If you are working with a recruiter – be sure to let them know what your salary minimums are. If you receive an offer that doesn’t meet your requirements, you need to let the company know your current base and justify your experience as to why you should receive a higher salary. It can be touchy to discuss finances but it is really important to get this right.
