Software Engineer-GUI Desktop Application (C#)
A leading global financial technology firm is seeking a Software Engineer to join its development team supporting a sophisticated, multi-asset class Execution Management System used by hedge funds and institutional investment managers.
This is an opportunity to work on high-performance, desktop-based trading technology in a collaborative engineering environment. The ideal candidate brings strong C#/.NET expertise and enjoys solving complex performance, scalability, and user experience challenges. Prior financial services experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance high-performance C#/.NET software components and desktop user interfaces
- Improve application capacity, scalability, and performance using Agile development practices
- Contribute to the architecture and design of next-generation product features
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve performance and functionality
- Collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to evolving priorities
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and technical excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in C# and core .NET technologies
- Experience developing both GUI and server-side applications
- Proven experience building high-performance, multithreaded user interfaces
- Experience with desktop applications; this is not a web-based development role
- Strong object-oriented programming skills; experience with WPF and/or Java is a plus
- Experience with .NET memory and performance profiling tools and unit testing
- Knowledge of trading systems, market structure, equities, fixed income, or other asset classes is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative engineering environment
Compensation & Schedule
Salary: $130,000–$180,000 base, exclusive of bonus, benefits, and other compensation.
