Senior Network Engineer
Our client, a leading global wealth management and financial services organization, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join its Infrastructure Engineering team. This role will support and enhance enterprise network infrastructure across office locations, with responsibility for network security, connectivity, troubleshooting, and new infrastructure deployments.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on Cisco networking experience and is comfortable working across both day-to-day network operations and larger infrastructure projects within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage enterprise network infrastructure, including firewall policies, VLANs, routing and switching, wireless networks, VPN connectivity, and network segmentation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and security issues across LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless environments.
- Configure and administer Cisco Meraki security appliances, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
- Support new office and infrastructure deployments, including hardware installation, rack and stack, copper and fiber patching, ISP connectivity, and network validation.
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, STP, LACP, and static routing.
- Support firewall policies, NAT, site-to-site VPNs, and enterprise wireless configurations.
- Provide operational support for Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) environments.
- Participate in change management and collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and End User Services teams.
- Maintain network diagrams, IP addressing plans, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of network infrastructure and processes.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of enterprise network engineering or infrastructure experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience with Cisco Meraki security appliances, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, SNMP, NTP, SSH, VLANs, 802.1Q, STP, and LACP.
- Experience with enterprise firewall policies, network segmentation, site-to-site VPNs, and wireless security.
- Experience deploying physical network infrastructure, including structured cabling, copper/fiber connectivity, and ISP circuit turn-up.
- Proficiency with network troubleshooting and packet capture tools, including Wireshark, ping, and traceroute.
- Working knowledge of Cisco ISE, 802.1X, RADIUS, Cisco FTD, and FMC.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred: CCNP Enterprise certification; OSPF/BGP; Cisco Meraki AutoVPN or other SD-WAN technologies; Microsoft Azure networking; enterprise monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, PRTG, or ThousandEyes; and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs.
Compensation & Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $95,000–$140,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
