Systems Engineer

Our client is a well established Asset Manager with offices in Stamford and NYC.  They are seeking a strong systems engineer with a DevOps/SRE focus.  The base salary range is $175,000-$250,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
 
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, deploy, support, and maintain the tooling, software/hardware dependencies and other dependencies that are required to conduct PoC’s, studies, and experiments in an on-prem lab or sandbox VPC environments in AWS cloud and other cloud providers
  • Partner with the infrastructure and InfoSec teams to trouble-shoot issues and to align with best practices and standards at the firm
  • Explore and experiment with emerging hardware, firmware, and software frameworks in collaboration with the researchers on the team
  • Explore opportunities for automation across various activities of the innovation team
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, electrical engineering, computer or other engineering and technical disciplines
  • 2+ years’ experience in cloud and systems engineering
  • Experience with cloud native technology stack such as AWS, GCP and Azure
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, or Github
  • Experience with technologies such as IaC tools, Terraform, docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with programming in Python or other programming languages
  • Knowledge of Linux, shell scripting, and networking
