Lead System Reliability Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity to join a financial services firm as their System Reliability Engineer at a critical point in the company’s development. Duties entail operating performance-critical applications and troubleshooting issues as they occur. This professional will establish our first incident management life cycle to identify and mitigate reliability risks.
This team is small, and this individual will work closely with colleagues on teams throughout the business. The entire team participates and is actively engaged in the design and evolution of this fast-moving startup.
Our ideal candidate has:
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience with equities trading and market micro-structure
- Experience with multiple programming languages and their interactions with operating systems
- Familiarity with micro-services architectures and event-driven systems
- Comfort with systems in a highly regulated environment
- Experience with profiling and data-driven optimization of critical systems
- A strong preference for iterative development and unit testing
- Experience working for the inclusion & success of underrepresented developers
- Passion for improving engineering processes and culture
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and data analytics skills
- An interest in complex adaptive systems
- A strong work ethic, and ability to take initiative
- A desire to make a difference in transforming the capital markets
