SQL Database Administrator
Seeking a SQL Database Administrator with experience in PostgreSQL to join our IT team in Chapel Hill, NC. You will be responsible for administration, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of SQL and PostgreSQL databases in a Linux and AWS environment.
What You'll Do:
- Provide DBA support for PostgreSQL and MS SQL in production and non-production environments including new database installation and configuration, upgrades (major or minor), system tests, and implementations
- Deploy databases on Linux, Windows, and AWS
- Provide performance-related support to applications that access the RDBMS
- Monitor databases to optimize performance
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of problems and recommend solutions
Skills You'll Need:
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a SQL database administrator
- 1 - 2 years of experience working with PostgreSQL
- Expert SQL scripting skills
- Experience working with databases supporting high volume, scalable, data-intensive systems
- A strong understanding of database infrastructure, maintenance, administration, and design in multiple environments
